Supercars Unlimited - slow to ship issues?

Supercars Unlimited - slow to ship issues?
Any history with Supercars Unlimited being show to ship / unresponsive to inquiries?
Ordered a new accessory harness on 9 May, they charged the order same day and still no further update - have emailed them a couple of times over the last week or so w/no response. no indication item out of stock and even if being shipped from its direct manufacturer I'd have expected to have it by now...
luckily not a rush for it but still a curiosity...

Same here - the most positive dealings with Greg Rollin at SuperCarsUnlimted. Give him a call - he's always answered the phone for me so far and I've purchased items from him since 2005.

appreciate the response - not much opportunity for phone calls during week, emails are about all I have time for. Not ranting by any means, I do recall having bought from them before as well.
will keep on it in the meantime.

What harness did you buy exactly? Many harnesses are drop shipped from the manufacturer (like M&H). Sometimes, the manufacturer does not keep these in stock so they are not built until the order comes in. Your payment is cashed immediately because the manufacturer will not build/ ship the harness until they have the money. Not sure if this is the case in your situation, just a possibility.

Make time for a phone call. You made time to post a complaint and even made time to read and respond to responses.

ok, so now I'm ranting...
finally had opportunity to call Supercars today only to reach vm stating 'out off office a few weeks" with orders to be addressed for shipping upon return. No indication when this began or when returning
Since I ordered online 3 weeks ago I didn't think to call them first to check availability (their website doesn't appear to indicate what's in/out of stock), since at the time I wasn't in a rush. But vm not taking messages and no response from emails either, so no idea when to expect my harness assuming actually in stock vs. vendor direct-ship to order...
Maybe my bad for assuming clear online ordering path but unless some kind of personal emergency not explainable in vm, arguably not cool on their part for the lack of notice

Seems odd they always seem to have time and ability to charge your credit card even when they can't be reached by phone or other means.
Never had a problem with Supercars, but the occasional situation does arise. Hopefully there isn't anything catastrophic, but you would think that businesses nowadays would have contingency plans for unexpected events such as this. Not answering emails is lame as well. But I'd blow up their phone in the meantime.

I had ordered an item from them, that only they sell, about 2 months ago. Crickets, so 3 weeks ago I sent an email to cancel the order. 2 days later I get an email saying that the "owner" had had a stroke, and that is why they had shut down. Hoping to be open again soon........... hope you will consider ordering from us again in the future............

I also ordered an accessory harness, in April of this year. Greg indicated it will be an special order item and it will take a while. I figured it will be coming by this time, either directly from M&H or via Supercars. Greg's phone has a message, for at least the last three weeks, about being out of the office. He's always been a good supplier in the past, so I figured something had to have happened. If he did indeed have a medical event, I wish him a strong recovery.

I ordered a number of items via phone from Supercars Unlimited recently. Greg shared with me he had a stroke. All the items in the recent order arrived without issue. There was a delay with one item which he informed me about, and that item was also received here.
I hope he his able to get his business responsiveness back to where he had it prior. He is an important niche supplier for Oldsmobile items.

I ordered a 70 4 speed shift boot a week ago yesterday. I never got a confirmation, I emailed twice, the second time to cancel the order. No communication, but the boot showed up 4 days after I ordered it and fortunately it was a good one, not the stiff crap ones others sell.
I got the part in a timely fashion, but they have serious communication problems ( at least for current times).

It is a shame how many times we read this and hear this with certain companies. Some people get their stuff in a timely manner. Some people get nothing. Seems like this usually happens before the end.
Hopefully if it is a health issue may they get better.

It is a single-person operation. The info on Greg having a stroke makes sense. Previously I could talk with him on the phone and order on the phone. Over the last couple of years I've never gotten anyone on the phone but I have ordered a couple of items. No confirmation, no feedback, but items arrived 5-6 weeks after placing the order. Greg is a good guy and I would hate to see his business go under. His physical location is close to me and there are times in the past that I would order early one day and receive the item the very next day, but I believe those days are gone. I hope he makes a good comeback.

I placed an order a few weeks ago and no response as well. Phone message says he is not taking calls due to medical issues. Bad spot to be for customer cause I dont want to place order elsewhere then he processes my order and I get duplicate. Anyone heard any updates on him and if he will get business back operational?

Pretty sure permanent. Always had good service from them. I really need to get another can or 2 of Engine paint. I need to touch up some areas and have not been able to find a match to what i already sprayed. Does anyone know the company they used for engine spray paint?

I have two, possibly three, unused spray cans of Supercars Unlimited bronze engine paint, p/n 14-218. It appears the manufacturer is Diversified Brands of Cleveland OH 44115, www.diversifiedbrands.com. On the front of the can it's labeled as Omni-Pak lacquer blend with the numbers LAV-16 and with the numbers 25216 under the LAV-16. Don't know if that will help track down any more spray cans of bronze engine paint or not. Supercars was a great source for me - usually a phone call one morning and the parts showed up the next day. Greg was one of the best for Olds parts.

I need Blue. Even a partial can would help. I ordered a can from Thorntons Reproductions out of Pennsylvania but it was too light and not much metallic compared to what I got from Supercars.
