Plase Help
I have been working on my newly aquired 66 Dynamic 88 , and have got to the stage off sorting out the er, no exsisent brakes, well , they do work , but boy are they hard to work,
Neighbour diagnosed a bad brake booster.
Next issue i spent this afternoon , running to Napa,Autozone,Oriellys, an Advanced , all off them have the part number , but not one seems to be able to order it, it,s on theie Computer , but when you say Yes I,ll take one it,s always the same , no stock , an no way off ordering it ?
any Ideas, confused

You'll have to bite the bullet and send yours off for repair, unless you find a junkyard piece that will likely be no better than what you have.
Google "brake booster rebuild" and you'll get several places that do it. It's gonna cost a couple hundred IIRC.

Oh well
I thought for sure I could have found a re manufactured unit someplace,
I hate sending stuff off, after all if it,s lost i,ll be well screwed.
Maybe have to start calling junk yards,
What other if any, Olds used the same booster as my 66 Dynamic 88 4 door
Or has anyone retrofitted a different , more modern unit?

If Kanter can't help, you can always put an aftermarket booster
on it. I can't speak from experience for '66, but most GM's
shared the same bolt pattern on the firewall.
I don't think it would be too hard to retrofit the booster.

I checked Rock Auto real quick and they have 2 different ones for a Dynamic with/AT and other 1966 models with return and rebuild, and to contact customer service for details. Call them and see if it is available, worth a shot anyway. I use Rock Auto and have never had a problem, good service and parts.

I ran into the same issue on my '64 Dynamic 88 convertible. I sent mine out to Power Brake Booster Exchange. They turned the booster around in 4 days for me. It works great, and looks pretty good with the fresh semi-gloss black paint they applied.

Best of luck.
