Front rotor on 71 cutlass..

Hi all, I'm checking the front brakes on my friend's 442, and I notice a groove on both rotor, see attachement, I came across a picture of another cutlass and
to my surprise same groove same place...!!! So I presume it stock . But I'll probably have to force the brake pad to get them out, they are molded to that groove !

So is it really stock ?
Thank you.

And you would need to push the pistons back into the calipers in any case.
