Booster hose?

I have used both fuel injection hose, and PCV vacuum hose to connect my booster to the intake..and both hoses still collapse. Can I take 3/8 hard-line and run it from the intake to as close to the booster as possible? Or even just use it within the hose to keep it from collapsing?

I use gates 11/32 power brake hose
I get it at oreilly's auto parts https://www.oreillyauto.com/search?q=gates+27230
gates number 27230 it's 2.89 a foot they have it in stock at my local store or you can purchase a 3 foot section under part number 27232 but they have to order it.
Been using this hose for at least the past 10 years and I haven't had any issues.

Went ahead and ordered the Gates brand hose this morning, and just went to pick it up. It does seem a bit thicker than everything else I'd used..but we'll see how it works out.

Gates should work. I have the 11/32 GM brake booster hose and in the box the manufacturer of the hose is marked....Gates. Hmmm. Go figure. But that's the correct hose. You only need a foot of the stuff or so and it comes in a 25' roll from GM.

Well, the Gates hose didn't collapse for the 2 hours I spent running it. Now to figure out why I had fluid coming from the back of the reservoir. Maybe it was overfull and I just didn't realize it..that's my hope at least.
