'68 Delta 88 convert front to Disc brakes with original setup

I'm purchasing, through ebay, new hubs and rotors for my '68 Delta 88.

I'll purchase remanufactured 4 piston calipers etc, but I'm interested in knowing if the spindles will have to be changed.

I'm on the search for the original backing plates and spindles if necessary.

Any input or suggestion for where to find parts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe Culhane

Yes, spindles are different. Good luck finding them, as there are no repros and disk brakes were relatively rare on these cars. You also need the correct caliper brackets for the four piston calipers. I do not know if the repro brackets for the A-body cars work on the B-body spindles. I'm extremely curious as to where you got the rotors, as I was not aware of any source for new parts.

Thanks, I do have a couple of feelers out there, and hoping to find used spindles and backing plates.

Would be too good to be true that the spindles would have been the same.

The ebay rotars are coming from a guy in Canada, which belonged to his Grandfather. Still in the boxes.

was easy enough to get calipers for my '68 Toronado, so i'm not worried about that. The spindles and backing plates are another story....fingers are crossed.

Thanks,
Joe

I've got a least 2 complete '67/'68 full-size 4-piston caliper front disc brake brake setups. I'd be willing to part with a pair of right and left spindles with the dust shields and caliper brackets for $275 plus the shipping. I'd have to pull the rotors and check the condition of the spindles, but I have no reason to believe there would be any issues with them. Everything would need cleaning and blasting. Dust shields have surface rust only, no rust holes. You can call me direct at 414-761-3552 or PM me through this site. John.

1967 - 1968 olds full size hubs & rotors & pads

I've indicated elsewhere in this forum -- though not for a while -- that I have exactly two (2) Front HUB & ROTOR Assemblies for the 1967 - 1968 OLDS FULL SIZE (but NOT TORONADO) remaining -- N.O.S.!!!!!!!!!

I also have N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ Front Disc Brake Pads for this application!!!

Unrelated, while I do NOT have the 1967 - 1968 Eldorado / Toronado Front Disc Brake Rotors -- I do have two sets of the 1967 - 1968 Four piston caliper (one set is N.O.S. Kelsey - Hayes in the Kelsey - Hayes Boxes!!!!)
and that N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ Pads.

Call me -- Craig -- 516 - 485 - 1935.... New York....
