sandblasting

I need the bottom of my 72 cutlass hood sandblasted for surface rust and the front-outside also.Blasters here must all blast the same way,(very close to part, high pressure, slow movement) which means the metal will distort.Cant they move much faster with more distance and lower pressure to avoid problems? I found a shop that will blast bottom of hood and prime with e coat, for $200.Is that a fair cost ,I do need it done, hate the look of my 442 hood. Its a calif hood in great condition, hope to sell it or its going to the salvage yard in jan2011.So,whats pu with the blasting ? Thanks!

If the hood is steel and in good shape, I will buy it.

Let me know.

Thanks

$200 to blast the bottom of hood and prime with e coat seems like a reasonable price to me. I would have it done.

I heard of using soda or walnut shells to reduce the risk of distortion, but not sure if those will remove the paint all the way though...
Given these hoods are so big, 200 is fair for both sides.
