The next job on my 68 442 will be the front fenders.They need some attention to the
lower rear section.I was also planning to move the letters to the right location for a car with the fender stripe.Was planning on cutting out templates for the holes on a waterjet.Bolting it to the existing holes and drill new holes after the template.
To do this I will need the location of the new holes relative to the existing ones.
I know for sure that I have seen this somewere online,but I dont remember where.
Wonder if anybody have seen this and remember where to find this information.

You can buy an assembly manual on ebay for about $25.
It should have the stripe info and dimensions as well as a lot of other useful '68 info.

The assembly manual only shows you that's it's in a different location, it doesn't actually give you the measurements. They used templates to pierce the fenders so measurements weren't required

The vertical distances between the holes are missing,but I can measure those myself.

The vertical distance is controlled by the posts on the back of the numbers. I have a template somewhere that I can scan into a PDF and you can probably print out and use.

Thanks ,but not nessesary.I got ref. points for the new location ,assuming the distances between the numbers are the same on stripe car,I got what I need.

Was just out in the workshop measuring,and these holes are not punched with high accuracy.
The 2 on the left fender is a lot lower than on the right side and did not line up nice with the 44.

Have to make a Cad- drawing to cut a template.If anybody is interested I can make a PDF and post it.

From what I see, it looks pretty good. Here are a couple of pics from my '68, which I know came from Lansing assembly plant with the W36 stripes.

If you laid the lines and numbers out per the thread we all call "the seven springs stripe thread" then I'm sure it's correct

Would you guys consider this fit as acceptable.It doesn't look like much work,but it was not easy to get the correct contours in two directions.I had to cut it off straight across.
The left fender was in better shape.The flanges on both side were solid and that helped a lot.

Yes,that's the one.
I used the existing holes to make a template,so I only needed the position of two of the holes.
