Conv top rear window?

I have a good canvass top on my 69 cutlas. But, a prior owner removed the glass window stating he had problems with it going down. He replaced it with plastic, which now looks pitiful. I picked up a glass one to replace it and can see it was previously glued in place. does anyone have a recommendation on what to use as an adhesive?

thanks,
Steve

The rear window is part of the rear curtain. In order to replace the rear curtain, the top must be removed as it overlaps the rear curtain mounting areas.

Conv rear window

I am looking to use my curtain and just install the glass in it. It would make sense to remove the curtain and adhere the glass on a nice flat surface. But that now sounds like quite a project. The glass I picked up had the remains of some type of adhesive. I am wondering what they would use for glass to fabric? It does have a zipper around 3 sides so I may be able to get it horizontal and adhere the glass? Any idea about the adhesive?

The rear glass is bonded to the curtain by the manufacturer. I have never heard of anyone successfully reattaching the glass to the curtain, so if you're able to do it successfully you may be the first one.

I think the zipper curtain was used on some aftermarket replacement tops with a plastic window only as the glass would be too heavy.

A glass rear window curtain is less than $200. You're never going to install a rear glass in a curtain for less than that. Cut your losses and buy the complete rear curtain. I threw two rear convertible glass windows out years ago because no one offered a rear glass installation service
