Any differences in 78/79 front bumpers?
I have a 78 Old Cutlass which was in an accident some time ago and the bumper was replaced with I think a Malibu bumper. The top part of the bumper is straight across.
I have the service manual for this car and it shows the Cutlass having a front bumper with 2 chrome outer pieces (seam covered by hard rubber strip) and one inner? Is that correct?
Do I need to get a bumper from a 78 or can I use a later bumper?

78-80 were weird.
1 front bumper had chrome bumperettes on the front that were cast into the bumper.
Another year, they had bolt on bumperettes.
Another had lights in the front bumper.
I forget which is which year. I'd just keep the malibu bumper on if I were you.

svnt442 - thanks. that gives me more options. Now I need to find out how many pieces is the bumper, at Carlilse the bumper guy selling bumpers says I need 3 pieces but it looks like I only need two chrome pieces, an upper and lower with an inner bar.
