'70 -'72 convertible rear wheelhouse question

Has any one used the reproduction '70-'72 convert outer wheelhouses? I picked one up at a swap meet with a Year One tag on it. When I tried to line it up with the quarter panel I have I found it not to be a very good match. I thought maybe it was labeled wrong or the repo quarter was off but today I looked at a convert that had an NOS quarter and one of the repo wheelhouses installed. It did not match well at all.

Here are a couple picture of the one I looked at today. The installation was not so good as far as the welding goes but that doesn't effect the poor fit.

Generally the outer wheel houses are sold as a generic between hard top and convertible. Recently, The Parts Place has sourced 70-72 specific convertible outer wheel houses. I know Fusik has now started selling The Parts Place's convertible specific wheel house, I do not know about Year One. Nevertheless, as is the case with most reproduction sheet metal there is modification required. If the installer simply welds in the wheel house, it won't mate up very well and will look less than stunning. The Year One piece that you own can be made to look factory correct, you will have the opportunity to spend a lot of time or pay someone to spend a lot of time to install it. Good luck and post some pics of your project!!!!!

X2. I bought otters that were supposed to fit all styles and they were totally different than Convertible style - had to return them. I then bought the ones from parts place that were Conv specific and they were very very close. Just minor tweaking needed.
