'69 Cutlass Vinyl Top Help Please

I am currently giving my '69 Cutlass an over due make over and I will need to replace the vinyl top. The problem being is the few places that have them (Year One, Brothers Auto Parts) only have them in black or white. Being that my top was originally brown do I have to buy a white one and stain it? If so what kind of stain? Does anyone offer all colors? Check out my thread, Dear God what have I done? '69 Cutlass makeover.

I used to manage body shops, and found local trim shops can get many different colors in many different patterns. Close is better than dye, anytime!
Approach them in person, with the car, for estimates.
Don't be afraid to negotiate, as 80% of something is better than 100% of nothing, with todays economy!

SMS makes vinyl tops or you can buy the material from them and have a trim shop do it.

If they don't have the correct color or type material they'll make it.
I think that dark brown color would be called "Sable" in '69.

I normally buy all my tops from Key Auto Tops out of Charlotte, NC. They carry a wide selection and good quality. However, they are currently out of the dark blue I need for a 71 Cutlass SX and said it would be a couple of months until they have the material. I've contacted SMS and Original Auto Interiors but was looking for a couple other options that carry pre-made tops in colors other than black and white. Any suggestions?

You seem to have run into the same problem I have. A bunch of aftermarket car companies sell replacement vinyl tops (Year One, Brothers Auto Parts, Original Parts Group), but they are only black or white. From earlier advice I will not buy a white one and get it dyed. I am currently talking to several local upholstery shops to see what they can do. Even though I won't need it until probably early next year I would like to figure it out now so I can plan on price and what not.
