1969 Post to Hardtop Conversion

Unfortunately, my car is a post car, and I have always like the hardtops a lot better. I already have a set of hardtop doors, and can get the quarter windows. I also know I will need all of the correct weatherstripping and such. After reading through some posts on here and ROP it looks like I may also need different regulators? Can anyone think of what else I'm going to need? I know that the hardtops have some bracing on the floor by the back seat, saw a picture on ROP. I'm going to have the interior completely apart for new floorpans and headliner this year sometime, so I could add those pretty easily while the interior is out. But nobody seems to agree if there is extra bracing in the roof itself on the hardtops, some people say yes and some say no. Can anyone confirm whether they do or not? Thanks for any input..

Or would it be easier to just swap on a hardtop body? I know where I could probably get one, but its a 68, don't know if there are any differences?

If it is a post coup you might want to consider trading to someone who has a hardtop in similar condition. The post coup are sought after by some people. Just a thought

This would be a huge project and only a few well skilled metal craftsman could pull off. You pretty much would need a complete hard top car to cut up and do this. I am all for making it your own but you are not taking about custom work you are talking about making a car that is readly ava. dirt cheap and making one that will cost 5-10 times to do. If you are that in to throwing away money I will give you my address so you can send me some.

Alright, thanks for the input. I think my best option may be to find a new body shell to swap onto my frame.

To get a 68 body shell to work on a 69 would I just have to cut out the tail light panel and weld mine in place?
