68 Vent weather seals

Well I did a whole car weather seal replacement. The vent windows weren't super duper fun, but they're in. They just don't seem correct? Sorry for the poor pictures..

It looks as if your vent window is not rotating enough toward closed position.

Do you have a 2-door car? Seals are made for those.

If you have a 4-door, no one makes proper seals and this could be part of the problem.

They do eventually take on a "set". Before they do that, you can work the rubber around the windows with a small (very small) flat blade screwdrivor or plastic wedge to put the rubber in the right position as it firms up.

Having tried a few reproductions, I found that none had the factory brass inserts that Olds put in mine in the 60's. Did one car and left the other alone.

I'll have to try that, I reused the inserts from the originals. I ordered my kit from Fusick. Very happy with it

There is an adjustment to vary the position of the window when it stops turning. The window should be parallel to the door when at its limit.
