A guy gave me what he thought was a Q-jet off a Corvette and turns out it's a Holley spread bore. Has no float adjustment and no secondary idle air screws.the choke horn has List 6210 and right below that has 3412. The carb body itself has 6R-3880B. Anybody know what this is, worth rebuilding for a 455?

I had one of those on a BBC Camaro (396) once-upon-a-time and it ran like stink! Even passed California emmissions with it. It is not as finicky as a Q-Jet, and maybe not as sophisticated even but a good carb none the less. If it is complete and functional, the rebuild kits are not terribly expensive. Unless you already have a well tuned Q-Jet, give it a try. It's a bit small for a 455 at 650 CFM though. If you don't want it, I'll give you $20 for it.

Can I put double pumper metering blocks and float bowls on it, maybe turn it into a half way decent carb?

Here's a complete one for parts or rebuild if needed,it has been
on a shelf in the shop for several years. $50 plus the ride.

Its a holley Q-jet replacement. I have one on the 71 because it came with the car. The rebuild was easy and I added the check ball to prevent blowing out the power valve.( I believe that's what it was for) It works fine and has given me no problems. I'll swap a Q-Jet back on when I swap motors.

No it's different than the square bore carbs.
