Valve seal 394

Can the valve seals easily be changed without removing the heads? Any special tools required?
Thanks,
Matt

It can be done with heads on the engine.

You'll need a spark plug hole air chuck tool (and air compressor) to hold the valves shut while you're working so the valves don't drop into the cylinder.

You'll also need a lever-type valve spring compressor. You may be able to rent both tools from a parts store.

You'll have to remove the rocker shaft, then use the spring compressor to remove the valve keys and springs. Once those are out of the way, you can install the new valve seals. Valve adjustment is automatic on reassembly.

Thanks, just what I wanted to hear.
