Spark Plug Choice

Spark Plug Choice
I'm thinking of replacing my plugs and wires on my 1971 442 (standard 455) as they were brand new back in 2004 when the previous owner re-did the car. I will check the plugs before replacing, as well as the timing. Need to borrow a friend's timing light. Any reccomendations on plugs and wires?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Have checked the timing. Appears to be 8 degrees BTDC and I believe the spec is 10. The car seems sluggish, but otherwise seems to run OK. I assume that adjusting the timing will help.
Regarding plugs: Any particular brand/type of plug recommended over the others? For wires, I am assuming that a good quality 8mm silicone wire should be fine.
Thanks in advance.

I just ran good ole' AC RJ45S's. Agreed, any plug wire set is fine.
Adjusting the timing may help a tad. I typically ran 12deg initial. It's usually the total timing that's more important than the initial. Initial just mostly affects idle and off-the-line response.
A general tune-up and carb refresh may be in order if nothing's been touched in at least 8 years!

Have heard from many and also you guys on the forums here that NGK plugs are good. They were what was in my car when I got it, and they are what I replaced them with.
Are you running HEI? if so, you need a bigger gap on those plugs.
