Issues with pulleys

Hey guys, I could use a little help. The engine in my car is a 1965 425. I bought it with the motor already installed and the pulley setup has always been way off but I have been making it work. Now that I've been doing upgrades the pulleys have been driving me insane. The waterpump on it is a high flow flowkooler which is 5.625". I only run the alternator, no power steering or AC. Eventually even planning to probably go electric water pump. Just trying to figure out if I can use a set of 455 pulleys to match up to this water pump, will they bolt to my 425 dampener. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I had the same problem with the factory 2 grove pulleys on my 425, after I installed the professional products balancer. I had to machine a spacer at .375 thick out of aluminum and install longer bolts. A-ok now.

I can guarantee that every single Olds that ever left the factory had belts and pulleys that lined up without the need for spacers. Get the correct pulleys, water pump, and accessory brackets that match. Problem solved.

Oldsmobile never left the factory with an sfi approved aftermarket balancer that is .375 or 3/8 narrower than factory, nothing you can do but space out the lower crank pulley to make up the difference! , keyboard tough guy!

I was referring to the O.P.'s problem, as he clearly has a stock balancer in the photo and a mixed bag of pulleys, water pump, and brackets. Your experience with an aftermarket balancer really doesn't apply to him and there is no reason why he should have to machine any spacer. I stand by my statement.
