Fuel Tank Sending Unit
I'm going to replace my tank/sending unit but want to make sure get the right stuff.
I'm not sure if I need a sendng unit with return or not?
I have a 69 442 A/C A/T
Thanks!

Pretty sure the 69 442 has a return but my 350 does not. Just look underneath by the axle. Should have 2 vent lines by the passenger tire going up to a little surge valve by the trunk floor and the gas line or lines coming from the top/center sending unit.
You probably know all this, but clean and spray the bolts with liquid wrench before getting started. Siphon gas out of the old tank but a gallon or so left behind is no big deal, just normal precautions on working around gas. Also may want new tank straps, tank pad and vent hoses while you are at it.

If the car came with a big block it had a return to keep the fuel cool. On your passenger side there would be 3 lines, and your fuel pump will have 3 lines. If it came with a small block theres only 2. If your changing to a big block get the pickup with 3 and add the return line. It also will keep it from vapor locking.

Thread Hijack!
On my 68 442, it has the fuel line and a return line to the tank. I am going to get a new Fuel tank sending unit. Do any North American companies make this piece or are they all made by Spectre (Chinesium)?
Thanks
