1967 Cutlass 4 speed throttle linkage

Hey guys I'm in search of the throttle linkage set up for a 4 speed car. Our car had the 400 in it so we don't need the kickdown switch. It now has a 200r4 with a TV cable. If you have one or know where I can get on that would be awesome! Thanks

At this point right now I would take a complete 4 barrel linkage set up because I need to get this thing moving under its own power and the linkage I have is missing pieces.

Well since finding a 4 speed throttle linkage is very hard to find and Im missing the bar that goes from the firewall to the carb plus the bushing in the carb linkage arm im going to make one using 1/4 rod ends like the ones below. I have a universal linkage that we had laying around so Im going to cut one end off and cut threads into and spin on the two rod ends and should work great. I will post some pictures once I get the final product together.

So went and picked up a 1/4-28 die this morning and cut threads into the 1/4 rod Im using for the linkage. Turned out pretty good if I may say myself and not bad for $10 in parts.

I have called about 8-10 different classic car salvage yards across the country and not a single one had a 4 speed throttle linkage. So the "hard to find not so much" is hard to believe to me haha

You have a 1967 442 4 speed tranny throttle linkage?

That should work fine. I also find it hard to believe that the linkage rod would be hard to find also. Is there a major difference in the rods for a manual trans?

It's not the rod that is different it is the part that bolts to the fire wall. It doesn't have the kickdown switch on it. Just a much cleaner looking setup. And since we are running a transmission that has a TV cable the switch is not needed.

I'm familiar in the differences of the 2, I have a 67 also. I agree after looking on the web, there is none, go figure. Perhaps a good time to go to a throttle cable setup.

Why not just take the kick down switch off your auto linkage? Keep the switch or sell it to someone who needs one.

The switch unfortunately is part of the structure of the linkage so if you took it off then the linkage wouldn't be able to hook up to it.

Why does it have those two spade terminals there? I like the block color.

Paul, those spades are for the switch pitch pigtail that went to the old transmission.
Pewter, nice job BTW. Looks great.

Thanks. The block color was our try at painting it haha. But that is what we ended up with.

about a year ago someone had on ebay a new part that they were making that would eliminate the switch to make the auto trans linkage the manual trans linkage. I have been trying to locate who it was since and have not been successful anyone hear who was doing that?

That would be awesome. It would make having the correct part or switching over like I'm wanting to do a whole lot easier.

He might be trying to get you to run a spark plug out the tail pipe and have it spark on the downshift and flame out the exhaust?
