This is one of the things that weakens our political system and ultimately hurts the whole country. Special interests should not be able to influence the government so easily but it has happened in all forms of government that I can think of. As long as people are greedy and selfish they will be open to influence on the basis of money and handouts. Think about it, it is everywhere. I agree that in this particular instance it would be very, very bad for our hobby.

If they gave me $20,000 credit toward a new car for my 442 I would pass ...
If they gave me $20,000 cash for it I would have to think about it ... |

Of course when the only choices are pond scum and raw sewage, there's no way to get spring water out of it...

This is the first time I ever wrote anyone in Congress and I only hope I'm not too late!
I'm sure all you all already know this, but they've been trying to pass similar programs like this for years. Thank goodness for SEMA and the hard work they do. |

From what I heard, it was in the house bill that was passed but I haven't heard anything about the bill the Senate is fighting over. Maybe it will be removed in the final compromise version if there is ever one.

I haven't heard anything, but I hope it didn't pass.
It would be kinda hard to get another "B" body in a few years The only car thing I heard is possiblly being able to write off interset paid on new car loans on taxes at the end of the year, but only brand new cars ![]()

That is good news! Now we need to hope that there aren't stringent emissions laws that are enacted that will prevent us from enjoying our hobby.
