Qjet floats

I just came from NAPA, where I ordered a carb kit and float for a Qjet that I need to rebuild. Here's a heads-up. A new plastic float (which I usually replace every time I rebuild a carb due to the ethanol and other additives) cost $12. A new brass float for the same carb cost $11.

Let's see....
Spend less money and never have to replace the float again...

What should I do?

By the way, carb kits seem to be going the way of dinosaurs. NAPA didn't stock them but could at least order them. NAPA was also over 10% less cost than the carb specialty houses I checked on the internet.

Looks like I'd better run over to my friendly NAPA warehouse and buy a couple of carb kits for our 2 '68 Cutlass's, and while I'm at it, p/u a couple of brass floats for the cheaper price. Of course, will have to have someone else reubild them, as a technician, I'm not. I'll stick w/the paint/&/body work. Trying to fiberglass a couple of under/bumper OAI scoops for the flat top wagon. IF IT WORKS, WILL POST PICTURES.
