Hey does anybody know anything about the hoses on the stock 307? Virtually all of the hoses are dry-rotted and I am currently replacing them. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

 

Just do them 1 at a time and use the correct sizes, and you'll be fine.

 

yea if your not familiar with the 307 then take it 1 at a time. an for the coolint hoses i believe they have a nice setup for them thats not just a plain hose but i don't member what it is.

 

You should be able to get them at your local auto parts store. Like the others said, do them one at a time and you should be fine.

 

One more tip is to use ONLY gentle pulling and twisting. If the hose seems really stuck, use a razor knife to slit the hose at the nipple and peel it off.

The worst thing is breaking a $75 part to replace a 50 cent hose.
My neighbor did worse on an acura by breaking a connection off the cruise servo. However, he superglued it back on right before he traded it.

The hoses are probably dry rotted away after 20+ years in the heat. I forget the sizes of the vacuum hoses but there is only 3 different sizes. The important lines are for the secondarys on the carb.

The coolant hoses, don't know the size of the upper and lower hoses, but your autoparts store will have them in stock by hoses by model of car, and the heater core hoses. One goes from the water pump to the core, the other goes from the core to the heater control valve in the back corner of the manifold. The one size is 3/4 inch and I think the other is 5/8.

Use WD-40 on the heater core brass to ease on the hoses, these break really easy, and push the hose on as far as it will go, but use the hose clamp on the tip of the core lines, there's a hump on there for the clamps

 

I just got done and it runs like a new car. Thanks for all the tips. They helped and yes they were all originals and it was a massive pain but it was well worth it.
