the 14" rims dont command much. you have a nice complete set w good tires that someone could bolt on and go, i would try $300-400 but wouldnt be surprised if you only get half that

Tire age

What is the DOT date code on the tires. If they are more than 8 years old the tires are junk and actually detract from the value of the rims since the buyer has to pay to remove them.

I sold my 14" tires and rims a couple of years ago with BFG's. I was asking $400.00 and got $350.00. It took a while to sell them. The guy that bought them though....put them on a 84' Monte Carlo....

8 year old tires are not junk in my opinion. However opinions are like ... everyone has one.

I've owned vehicles with 30 year old tires & they were just fine. As far as $300 - $400, that's a good deal considering the tires, Brand new are all of $500 & those would be with a production year of 2015 so they would be about a year old from the get go. With all that said, I do appreciate the opinions to my question. I'll try for a bit more & see where they end up, they may just end up staying in my garage. As stated, they are bolt on & go complete, 4 tires, 4 painted wheels, 4 center caps, 20 small chrome trims, 4 large trim rings & 20 chrome lug nuts, a good package deal for someone with the same color car. Thanks again guys.

My opinion on 30 year old tires, is a good life insurance policy for loved ones left behind. As far as price on your wheels and tires, ask what you think is proper and drop lower if necessary. The issue with selling 14in wheels and tires is the same as the reason you went to 15's. There is just not much available in that size anymore.

It may get you more exposure if you add some words like olds, cutlass and 442 to your ad

They also fit g bodies so you could add that too

It also would help to put some sort of price or you will be getting some ridiculously stupid offers.

Brian, I agree with Eric but for a different reason. It may just be me but if an ad does not display a price I will almost always pass it by. I may sometimes miss a good deal but most of the time I have found that if someone does not set a price they are not serious about selling it or just wanted a ridiculously amount of money.
If it is any help at judging the market there is a set on craigslist in my area going for $450 that has been there for months (no as nice as the set you have). There is another set that just sold without tires, they were asking $250.

Likely the center caps. There are the earlier style which are bolt on (and have a different stamping of the wheel center) and the snap on caps, which also have a different stamping on the wheel center.

I don't think it has anything to do with folks not wanting the paint code 26 14" wheels, it's the fact they are 14" and hard to find rubber for. Wheels can be color changed so that's hardly an issue. The wheels that are popular now are 15, 16, 17 and 18. MUCH easier to find rubber for those and as long as the overall tire height doesn't change much the speedo will still be 'semi' accurate. That's why I put GPS in my car - it tells me the speed really accurately. I would prefer to have the correct drive gear on the speedo head so the mileage count is accurate.

its true, its not only the 14s but the fact they are blue. Nothing wrong w blue but unless they are a bargain no-one w a red or black or green or yellow etc car will want them even if they were a bargain, its more work to change the color for a potential purchaser

As others have said, the colour may be what is holding people back. The snap on center cap was not correct until 1973, so for 1972 and older there would be less tendency to buy. It is more difficult to find 14" tires now, but BF Goodrich still makes various sizes, and if your not going with repro, Wide Ovals, BF is widely available.

Snap on caps were not used until 1975.

If I were in the market for wheels I would pass yours by because there is no phone number provided. Put your phone number in the field provided by Craigslist. A buyer has to click the reply button to see your phone number. I've done that in the past and it cuts down on the SPAM calls that you get.
