I've never seen a stainless Olds t-stat housing. There are factory aluminum ones from the mid-1960s, but these require the J-shaped bypass hose as they do not have the metal goose neck.

Is this it?

Mine looks like this. Bought from supercars unlimited. It leaked at J tube and main housing connection. They said send it back and they would replace it but I sealed it myself to save replacing the tower clamps. (see gray sealer in pic)

I got a good aluminum one with a stainless steel spout from Summit. Had to cut the spout a good half inch and bend it a little bit in my 80lb vice to get it to meet up with the water pump, but that certainly did the trick.

I also found that gooping it up with RTV sealant is not necessary and can be the actual cause of your leaks, especially with an aluminum housing going up against an aluminum intake. Not much actually sticks to aluminum... Sealing up the bolt threads is definitely necessary, however.

Another great place NOT to use RTV silicone. Especially not a lot of it.

Man, i actually got it from their ebay store. I just searched for it and didn't find anything.

I know it won't help, but the auction # was 190959758641 from seller summitracing_sales

Came in a summit box, summit sales order and even some stickers.

Also included a picture and hopefully some of those numbers will help.
