Where can I find a fuel inlet fitting for a stock Rochester carburetor? I have what should be the stock carb for a 68 Toronado. It is very clean and tight and the car runs very well at idle and on the road. My problem is the fuel inlet fitting leaks gasoline onto the intake manifold. Someone had replaced the original fitting with an aftermarket "O-ring" fitting and it doesn't fit very well. The inlet threads look to be in fairly good condition and the inlet is not cracked. From what I can measure the inlet diameter is somewhere around 0.865" measured (using very light contact pressure) with a dial caliper. I've looked at the auto parts store and they have a "repair" fitting with self-tapping threads but diameter is 1.00" which is way too big. I've talked to a local shop with lots of spare carburetor parts and everything they had was either too big or too small....
The carb serial number is 7028252 RN. If anyone can provide a source for this inlet fitting it would be greatly appreciated! I have searched for severel weeks and am just about ready to bore the thing smooth and J/B weld one of the larger fitting in place permanently!!
