Carpet to Vinyl prepunched holes in backer. On the hinge side the holes lined up with my drilled holes, but the door jamb side was off by almost 1/4” on the last couple holes as shown by my finger. I think if I would have used those prepunched holes the trim may have been to low and the carpet may have shown from the top. Glad I did my method. Learning here is check before punching holes in the vinyl.
