The original metal folded back with 1/2" tabs to secure the tack strip. I opted to tuck the patches up inside the very rusty leading edge to give it more strength. I may weld the tabs on after completing the patches or I've seen some guys screw the tack strip thru the header bow and grind down the screws so they don't poke thru the top fabric.
