If you zoom in real close, you might see some pitting there, where they welded from behind along the top curl over the back up lamp, and to the end. It's visible to the naked eye

Apparently that's where they had to do the repairs... I didn't see it before they tanked it and stripped it.

Everything you see has been repainted- Not new parts, just painted the old ones!

I grabbed this off Zillow... it looked better when I sold it.

These corner tins still need a good polishing, but I cleaned them up good before re-installing them

I just wanted everything to look clean when you open the hood.

The chrome trim also came off. The piece under it was scrubbed, sanded, and painted with the same Eastwood 2K under hood black

besides the battery tray, there used to be a hole rusted right through that panel under the front fender, just above where the wire is in the picture.

I'm going to pull the radiator and have to pressure tested, then I'll paint everything before I put it all back together.

Somehow it's empowering. I don't feel so helpless.

This is a softball sized vacuum tank from Dorman. It's functional, but not much more. Try to find a place to hide this under the hood.

This should give you an idea of what I'm going for. I cut a piece out of the Chevy floors I used to patch out a couple weak spots on my floors.

Something like this, I think...

That's the fit at the back edge. The piece sticking up has to either go, or get bent over flat with the top of the tray

I had a little piece of steel laying around from when I was thinking about patching a few small holes in my floors- or maybe from one of my motorcycle projects? I forget. It's only about 18 gauge, but that means I have half a chance of bending and shaping it with my meager tool set.

One more from a different angle. I hope you can see that the mounting points along the front and both sides are really solid, but the back of the tray is completely gone.

This picture gives you a pretty good idea of how bad my battery tray is, and a clue as to how I hope to do better. That's the bottom view of the tray.

This is the new webbing material. It's a 3 panel webbing as it should be from 1964, but the color probably isn't a factory red. It is, however, a nice match for my seats, and the carpets.

I have the old belts, so I have the original factory tags. I could try to clean hem up and have them re-attached to the newly reconstructed seat belts.
