Lets See Your 15" Tires

Hi,

Just wanted to see some of the set ups you guys are running with 15" tires. Thinking 245/60s/15" all the way around.

If you had some pictures that show off your tires please post them.

Here is mine as she sits with 14" 245/60s

Thanks,
Roger

SSII's 225/60/15

I'm not a big fan of SSII's so some time in the future I'll be changing them out but for now they work fine

I like this setup! Note the rear rises (not squats) to plant the tires. The original Rund car had color-coded front wheels and the gold ones were on it when the Feb. 1967 Cars centerfold photo was taken. Hoosiers, 28 x 4.5 x 15 front, 30 x 9 x 15 rear. Not exactly a street setup, but I like to fill the rear wheelwells.

Thanks 3155 that's the set up I'm considering or 245's all the way around.

Dave thanks for the great pics wow they both look great. 275's are a little big for me but the 255's look pretty damn sweet.

Nice photos guys.

Any examples with 255's all the way around on 70-72's without rubbing issues?

So I'm still trying to get over the 69 H/O wheels thing but seeing as I'm the only one that seems to be running 245 60 15's all the way around on a convertible here are the pics:

BTW, I have an oversize sway bar on the front & they rub at lock.

Hey Mike,

As far as the 69 Hurst wheels you are probably better off with out them lol.
They were all bent. I have had two of them fixed but they are not perfect.
As far as the other two they look good but I am still trying to get someone to fix them as they are unusable at this point. I have them at another shop right now just waiting for them to let me know if one or both can be corrected. I was able to pick up one more so as of right now I am a 3 legged man lol. I think you said something like what goes around comes around and I wish they were round. I did make the effort to be completely honest with you and my intentions as I thought that was the right thing to do.

Great pics love your car and thanks that is the set up I like or 255's on the rear.

OK, thought I'd pop a pic of mine up here. Running 295-50-15's on the rear and 265-50-15's on the front. All on 8" wide rims with no clearance issues at all.

Couldn't find more pics but I have them. Will try and upload later.

Jim

Added a phototaken from the rear of the car. Gives a better idea of how the tires fill out the wheel wells. I know I have a bunch of photos from when I put the tires on, but its hard to find them when traveling.

new shoes on the 1972 W-30

Finally got around to mounting ties on & installing the re-po HO rims from Specialty Wheel. They have since been discontinued.

Fronts are 225 70 15s on 15 x 7" rims. Rears are 275 60 15s on 8" rims with 4.5" BS.

A few pics for you.

Found them here http://www.onlinetires.com/products/...52Ft+105s.html

They are repop cheaters done on radials Hurst Racing Tires. Needless to say they are limited street use tires, mostly for show...

I dont know, never tried them as my car is just for show, it was used, abused, and just a shell when I got it. The tires are recaps out of original molds. This is what was done back in the day until they started producing the wrinkle wall drag slicks. The manufacturer says they are fine for racing but have heard stories about these recaps pealing off during smokey burnouts and ruining quarter panels. I would say these tires are for show or nostalgia racers not worried about maximum traction.
