My mates 72 cuttie has a th350 gearbox. There doesnt seem to be any kickdown whatsover ??? looking under the dash at the loud pedal i can see the throttle cable connected and a bit further down the pedal another cable which seems to lead down to the g/box but is so long its not activated even at WOT ????

his tranny shows PRNDS2 i think, what does the S and 2 mean, and shouldnt the cable on the loud pedal connect and do something on the tranny or has someone/previuos owner modified it ??

There should be a cable from the fun pedal to the trans, it's either engaged for passing gear or not.

 

There is a clip on the cable that is used for adjustment. The cable should bottom out at the same point the throttle is open all the way. Is the cable connected to the transmission at the other end?
