Timing Chain Help!
OK so I replaced the cam in my 66 Cutlass. The engine on ly have about 500 miles on it. Too big a cam for my 330. Anyway, when I opened the front cover I found a new double roller. Here my question....I don't know the brand....no name on it. The crank spocket has 2 "o" and something that look like "II" and and triangle. So what it straight up? did I mention that it's a three way crank spocket?
How can I be sure I have the new cam in correct?

That is so you can change your cams timing +/- 4 deg. This used so you can have the valves open sooner or later relative crankshaft postion. If i am not mistaken all double roller after market timing chains come this way. It only seems logical that you should use the center notch for orignal setting. If it was not on this originally then that will explain low bottom performance.
After further investigation here's what I figured out. the reason there are 2 o marks is that one is directly over the crank key and the other, to the left of the key is the straight up position.
Here's the good news....it was like that when I took it apart and it's like that again now that the motor is back together.
It has been broken in and after running it for 1/2 a hour....it sounds good and it's MUCH more responsive....although I haven't driven it yet.
I'm letting it cool off. I have a slight rocker arm "click" from the drivers side bank and I'm going to pull the valve covers and re torque the bolts.
35 ft pound right? also am I right in assuming that the valves should be in the closed position before I torque them?
