324 Manifold (98 Holiday Coupe)

I need a manifold for a 324 1956 98 Holiday, any suggestions who and where I might find one? The one I have is NOT for my engine and was forced on causing damage to the valley pan. I replaced the pan and now need the correct manifold. HELP!!!

Or can someone explain HOW to replace the Valley Pan that wont accept the nub on the bottom of the intake manifold. I replaced the original valley pan with a cast aluminum one and that one does not have the dish allowing the nub. Some one Help PLEASE!

I have heard a little about the bulge on the bottom of some of these intakes... Unfortunately I can't be of much help. I know my intake on my 55 has no bulge, so maybe its the wrong year? I saw a few days ago that offenhauser might make intakes for the 324, but they are all multi-carb setups from the looks of it. If nothing else hopefully this will be good for a bump so someone who knows what they're talking about can chime in... Good luck

Could the nub be ground off? What is it there for?

It sounds like you are trying to use a later manifold (371?) on your 324. There were several different valley pans for early Olds engines. A 303 was raised, a 324 was even, and a 371 had a dip. There are a couple of 371 valley pans on ebay. It sounds like you might need one.

x2 on the 371. I know nothing about aluminum valley pans but back in the day I was told that you could heat the steel pan and dimple it to match the intake....Tedd
