Lansing Homecoming 2017

I would like to attend the Lansing Homecoming 2017. I would like some reviews. I live in the Cleveland Ohio area so it will be a day trip. Is it as good as it sounds? I won't be driving my 66.
Thanks
Wayne

Too much to tell you about it! But there maybe a few hiccups with a new location this year.

It's twice the size of 90% of the nationals.

If you are that close and an Oldsmobile guy then YES!! It is an AAA+++ show. If you want to look hard at the cars and hard at the swap meet you will not get it all done in the one day show. We go the day before and stay in a hotel because there are lots of people and cars around the hotels. It almost feels like a two day show if you go the day before.

I see your location is Median Ohio. I raced there a couple times in 2010 out at Smith Road. That is a great vintage track.

what was said, I couldn't believe it the first time I went. What really proves how good it is is each time after I still tell people best Olds show to go to. Trying to go to it this year, I only make it about every other year. How to do when you have kids and its Father's Day weekend.

I live off East Smith road in Medina. What track were you referring to. I won't be able to go the day before so it will be up and early. I am looking forward to it.

This is on the West side. I stayed at the Red Roof Inn on the East side.

I got it. I just didn't know what kind of track. I know the track. It's been there for years and I believe it's still being used. I don't follow dirt bikes.

By far the best Olds round up and if you need parts it's a honey hole. People are down to earth and as stated above it's huge. You will not regret it. Where is show being moved to?

Thanks for the heads up about the Lansing Homecoming. I'll have to see if I can fit it in to my "busy" schedule. I've been retired for 4 years. I'll have to get a car ready. I drove the 1971 Royale to the Miller meet last summer, in the off and on rain. On the way home I had a red 1965 442 follow me all the way to Blazing Bills restaurant on Rt. 422. It was a good trip. There's a lot of time to get your car ready, just saying.

I was told it is a few hundred spaces bigger. The old site was little fragmented the north and south lots.

Here is the birds eye view of auto owners and few of the surrounding streets.

It is definitely worth the drive. I live in lyndhurst over on the east side and I go every year. The swap meet is worth the drive alone. It is by far the best one I've been to. In my opinion it is better than the nationals. Its one of the only swap meets I can actually get 59 parts. Definitely a lot of A-Body stuff. The carshow is also excellent(the best olds only one), but I really go for the swap meet. I usually leave at about 6:00am and am home before 5:00pm and this includes picking up and dropping off my father in Parma. Its an easy drive.

It's a big show, a little disappointed with last years and the new location. The cars were parked anywhere and everywhere. No organization or classes. Not sure if it was judged? Parts swap meet just okay. Probably won't go in 2017.

How long has it been since you were at the show? The classes were eliminated at least 6 years ago IIRC. It's good for people bringing a few cars of different eras to put them in the same area or buddies who have dissimilar cars or eras.

I would agree with at least bringing back the classes. But peer judging and trophy presented a huge time table issue. I won't even start that the number of vehicles is twice the size of the nationals.
