Anything specific that might make it easier to narrow down the vin? 2 or 4 door? Convertible? Color? Interior options? I have a friend with a 66, as do countless other memebers in readerland. Thanks

This is what is on the pro-tecto plate:

987-M 338676M366780
W173261G JPSC
MK196D 30110

P. Ronney 20-4510
1919 34th St 5-31-66
Lubbock, Texas M366780

It's obviously a convertible, sold in Lubbock, Texas on 5-31-66 To P. Ronney.
VIN 338676M366780. Thats all I can tell you from the Pro-O- Plate. There are no other notes. I have no way of decoding any of the other info on the plate.

I would prefer to keep this as opposed to just selling it for someone to resell it. It came with the car I purchased but the only thing that matches is the 33867 which is a Vert.

Since you have the VIN, The state department of motor vehicles can trace the current owner by that, if it is still in Texas. Call Austin DMV headquarters and request information on that VIN. Or if you are close to a tax office in Texas, they can give you that info.

Well im from Lubbock, dont know anyone with that name and dont recall a 66 Olds convertible. Although i was only 12 in 66, but in later years as part of the local car scene i dont recall that car. Womble Olds was the Olds dealer at that time. They were on 19th and Texas Avenue.
Ill ask my brother, he graduated from high school in 66.

I googled that address, its apartments that in 66 would have probably been the nicest in Lubbock, known as the Rivera appts back then. I knew a heart surgeon that lived there for along time. Just FYI

I had my brother-in-law run the VIN through his company databases and these results came up. He is a PI and has several methods to check.

My data base system run for the below listed states. Nothing came up. I'll try some other things to see if I can a hit. Could be salvaged.
