Sure wish I was. Bob said I may still be able to get this Jetfire I am getting Friday in the for sale section. We are not keeping that car long term but it would not be ready to sell that quick. I have several things I need to do to it over the winter before I can sell it. We also want to take it to a couple shows before letting it go. I guess I could take it and have it for sale pending that I finish it, lol. As much as I want to go, I think it will be best to hold off this year.
You don't need to bring a car to enjoy the show, you can just grace us with your presence .

We will be there all weekend. As usual, helping some of the Stude guys... We are also helping a friend detail and prep his '70 W30 4 speed post that will be in the Pure Stock display, and will likely be for sale.
If all goes well, I will be there with my 70 442 convertible. There is still a fair amount of work to be done but if things stay on track, it will get finished. Details - My 442 was built on Dec 11, 1969 at the Fremont assembly plant. It was sold new as a customer order through Bob Huffman Oldsmobile in Portland, OR. Unfortunately, I have not been able to unearth details about previous owners.
The car has Y62 Special Paint in Viking Blue. This was a pretty common color on A bodies in 71 and 72 uit in 70 it was a Toronado only color. Other features are a blue interior and white top. It came with PS, PDB, power windows, power drivers seat, tilt, a/c AM/FM radio with rear speaker and 8 track tape player, console, sport wheel, interior hood lock, clock and the accessory light package . These options are all confirmed by the build sheet found above the gas tank. During the restoration I have added an OE ram air hood, SSII wheels and the Rally pack gauges. All else is as built.
The car went through a nut and bolt, rotisserie restoration. I tried to do as much of the work myself as possible but had huge amounts of help along the way. Rusty's Rod Shop here in GA did the paint and body. He is a true craftsman. Mark Remmel (cutlassefi) built the engine Patton Glade (70Post) has been a tremendous help along the way. He is absolutely the best. Joe (costpenn) and Eric (jensenracing77) have also been great help and a huge inspiration and help, both directly and through the fantastic restorations they did so publicly on their W30's. There were many others as well. Thanks to all of you. This is a fantastic forum for sharing knowledge and ideas and I'm happy to be a part of it
I can't provide completed pictures but if there is any interest I would be able to do so by the weekend. In the meantime, here are a few pics from my journey. Please stop by in Chicago. I'd love to meet as many of you as possible during the show.

My apologies to anyone who might be looking for my Viking Blue car at MCACN. We got behind on it and despite working til midnight numerous nights, I just couldn't get it done. I had to withdraw it from the show at the last minute. I didn't want to embarrass myself or the Oldsmobile crowd by attempting to show an incomplete car. I will try to post pics next week. Very disappointed in not being there. This was kind of a bucket list deal for me and likely will never have the chance again.
Sitting here on lunch at work wishing I was there! I will be going next year for sure. Maybe Ryan Brutt will get me in a day early to help him setup? I think I had as much fun helping him set up last year as I did during the show.

I'll be headed over for day three today. Amazing event with top-shelf cars. I got to judge two 1972s yesterday and visited a mind bending private Olds collection last night that included many W-30s and H/Os and actual 1977 and 1974 pace cars. Met several longtime forum friends in person too.

Wow, what a weekend. Got to meet a lot of new people, got to see a lot of friends, and got to see a ton of awesome cars. It feels like you blink and it's over.
rand5204, sorry to hear your car didn't make it, was looking around for it and wondered what had happened. No reason to apologize, I'm sure you'll get a chance to bring the car out at some point. Best of luck getting it finished.

Oldsmobile Muscle Cars were well represented. It is a multifaceted event, not just a car show. Met some new friends, got to put a name and face together as well as see old friends.
As always, thanks to all who participate and help at any level. See you next year for MCACN X.

The Order Number was K61628,
Our cars were built the same day....wow!
Looks like I posted a pic of Stefano's car in my thread in general Discussion. Nice car, bud. All nice stuff there. What a show. I feel the best time to go is around 6:30 on Saturday. Everybody's at dinner and clearing out. By 8:30 there is no one left! Great picture time!
Didn't make the show but thought I'd share a few of the latest pics. Drove the car out of my shop onto the lawn yesterday afternoon. It's the first time the car has moved any distance under it's own power in ten years. There is absolutely nothing like the sound of a BBO! Still have much to do. Interior not finished and lots of small details. Shooting for next year's MCACN now.
