Wanted: 1964 330 block
Need a 1964 330 block with Julian date 89 thru 105. I guess it could also be a 1965 or 1966 but would prefer 1964. Short block or long block would be okay. Thanks.

i had to use a 66 for my 64 442 with the correct date and used the orig 64 heads, 64 crank balancer, and waterpump.
maybe someone can shime in if they know how to tell the difference. (year of the block) I heard the 70 455 blocks had a casting No. like a "3" or something by the distribitor hole. Any truth to this i am not sure.

On ksl Utah Ksl.com classified there has been a guy trying to sell two 64 motors one complete and the other is a long block I believe both for 300 not sure if he is willing to ship but he has been trying to sell them for two years as the price keeps going down

I'll try the guy from the KSL ad. Left a message a while back but never heard from him. Hey Stan, hope you are well. Thanks for looking at your engine. Not sure what shipping would be from BC to NorCal. Do you have fastenal in BC?

yes we do have fastenal but they dont do cross border yet,

That would be great, John. Let me know what you have. The rain has subsided in the city this morning. Hopefully long enough to dry things out before the next pineapple express arrives.

What I was told when I bought it is a 65 Motor is # 381917.Motor is on a stand inside & I could send pics if you want to PM me your phone #.The # on head pad is T613220L . Has #2 heads . The big number by the distributor is 78 with a big number 1 above it . The other motor is still in a car - motor # is the same , # on head pad is T041188G. Car is under a tarp and still raining off and on- have not been able to look at the # behind the distributor. If you are in a hurry, will probably not be able to get the motor out of the car until it dries out. John

Thanks, John. The block on the 65 engine is too low. When things dry out a bit, let me know what the other block number is on the 64. looking for 90's to 105 or 106. Again, not a rush. The engine is for my convertible. The block date is incorrect for the build date. Also, is the 64 a two door f85? I need some rust free west coast parts.

So close, Stan. This might just work. Let me look into the code on the exhaust manifolds. The car is in storage and I may not get there for awhile, but I assume you are not getting rid of the engine in the next month or so. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, do you know if it's been apart for a rebuild. Not that it matter, just want to know where I would be starting from (i.e. already bored 30 over, etc)

That works...I'll re-title this post once I find the engine with a correct date code. So far, Stan has the closest Julian date. I've been looking for about one year. There are so many 330's out there. I'm starting to think they mass produced these engines on certain dates and that is why so many of the engines i've looked at have the same code.

I have a 65 engine, I'll check the date code but I'm sure it will be early enough. It came out of an early 65 VC. It's got a 2 barrel carb and complete from carb to pan.
I have no idea what shipping would be...

Thanks a lot for climbing around in the shed, John. I appreciate your effort and know it was probably painful. If you found a breather, send me an email. That would be the highlight of my weekend.

Still looking. I need to keep one for my project, and so far I've come across one on a 1964 that looks like the picture in the other thread. Then one on a 1966 that looks slightly different. The rubber where the metal pipe goes is smaller and offset just off center. It also doesn't have the nipple on the side as the 1964. So they may have had differences between the years.
