Throttle cable needed.

Hi, I am looking for a throttle cable for a 1973 Olds 98 with a 455 ci and 4bbl carb. I have been looking for a couple of weeks, so any leads where I can purchase one is appreciated. Thank you for this site and allowing me to become a member. Ray

You are talking about the one with the square plastic termination that press fits into the cable bracket on the driver's back corner of the carb right? Maybe Year One or someone like that.

It clips onto my 69 455 without an issue. Give me ten minutes and I'll have your pics.

Thanks for replying. That was one of the first places we tried. Had a feeling they would not have it but employees may have a good lead on where to look, but not this time. Thanks again, ray

The one I have doesn't work, so he's still in need of one. I'm sure someone has one that'll work. Good luck in your search and I'll keep my eyes open.

Hi, I found the only guy in America that has a few good used ones. I figure he must believe he is because he would sell it to me for $200.00 Shipping included. He recommend that I buy a spare from him also, and that would also have free shipping.

Inline Tube has a throttle cable available for "69-72 Oldsmobile 442 A-body" at http://www.inlinetube.com/, click on the tab at the top that says "New Products", and it's almost all the way at the bottom of that page. $29.00, but I don't know if it fits a 73.

Mitsudave, Thanks for responding. I spoke with someone from inline a few days ago about that very part. I have been finding out, and Paul (oldsfan) was the first to point me in this direction, is other than the 1973 Regancy 98, the 1972-1974 Delta 88 and the Custom Cruiser are the ones to look for. The part that connects to the carb is larger than the Cutless and the 442. So to make the hole on the cable connect fit, the carb would have to be changed. The opening would require a hole wider that the total width of that cable. Thanks, ray
