Rocket Emblem Tissue Dispenser Trash Bin Circa @ 1966-1973
EDIT -
Fri Feb7th ... SOLD
======
(1) tissue dispenser trash bin combo option.
Seems to be kind of a rare find.
Thought to be available for the 1966-1973 year range.
https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...id-rarity.html
Solid - free of cracks & generally very good shape considering the age ... but certainly not perfect.
Plenty of pics can be found below.
I was originally asking $125 for this.
Been offered $50 shipped for it ... & I declined to sell it for that.
What I'm willing to take is ...
$75 & that is the new price.
Not really interested in letting this go for any less than that.
The price of $75 ... includes shipping to the lower 48 states.
Payment via PayPal is preferred ... but I am willing to accept a snail mail payment if absolutely necessary & discuss shipping it elsewhere if the need be.
Thanks.

I'm not surprised. I think your price is way too high.
I have a '73 Custom Cruiser, and I'd love to put something like this on the transmission hump. But I certainly don't want to pay $125 for it. I appreciate your detailed photos. They show a complete, functional, but well-used item with scratches on it. I'd give you $25 for it (plus reasonable shipping), but that's it. This item falls into the category of a nifty extra, not something vital to keep the car running or to complete a restoration.

I would be happy to do $75 ...
But $25 for something that is damn near made of unobtanium & not sitting in a rusty puddle of muck in a junkyard is absurd ... even this economy.
Some days I think one could list something for FREE & ask that someone just pay the shipping .....
And that still wouldn't be acceptable.
Some would moan & groan I wasn't having it hand delivered to their door via a swimsuit model with zero cost(s) out of their pocket.

There is an old funeral home hurst Oldsmobile here in Indianapolis at a local home. They have 2 Oldsmobile service cars and they both have those in them. They also to my knowledge. I believe they also put them in Limo's of Oldsmobile type. Never knew these were general option or anything. Pretty cool to say the least. Should be worth your asking and I wouldn't take lower either.

I think it is pretty cool as well. I do not understand how the kleenex part at the front works? Maybe I'm stupid lol but how do you load it with kleenex ..in a box or take them out of the box? Sorry if this seems stupid but i have terrible allergies so this is the main part of this piece I am interested in. Please get back to me if you can explain it for me and will take $50 shipped for it. Thanks a lot...Todd
P.S. I am also willing to trade you a 3 core radiator top plate from a 68 cutlass for it, which I listed at $75.

Ok pics added.
Scroll back up to the top to the 2nd post/batch of pics.
The last (4) of that batch of pics show the tissue box installed & how it tucks into the door.
Not a perfect fit ... but it works.
Something else currently available available out there may have a better fit.
(meaning the replaceable tissue box itself)
The approximate dimensions of the empty tissue box shown is :
6.56 x 4.75 x 1.43
Keep in mind that the box has gets scrunched down at the one end when installed due to the curvature of the door at the bottom.

Thank you for your time, I am still interested but just remembered I have a below dash A/C unit. Can you please measure the width and height of this unit so I can see if it will interfere with the A/C unit. If not will you take $50 shipped for it? Thanks ...Todd

I'll give you $65 for it, shipped, and I have paypal and can pay you immediately.
Remember, you've been trying to get rid of this thing for god knows how long. How much longer do you want to stare at it?

I think I have the perfect car for it. A '73 Custom Cruiser with a bench seat. It's supposed to be paintable, so I plan to paint it to match the interior/carpet color scheme, and it will look right at home on the transmission hump.
If I remember to do so, I'll take a picture of it once it's in place, and then I'll offer it for sale for $500.
The one thing it doesn't have is cup holders, but I'll figure something out. It's funny how that feature has evolved in cars over the years. Nowadays, an ample supply of cupholders built into the center console, in a fold-down in the center of the rear seats, and often in the doors, is commonplace. In '70s and earlier cars, they were nowhere to be found. Of course, back in those days, we didn't have drive-throughs at every conceivable type of restaurant, drug stores, and half of everything else.

Do post pics I wanted it for my bench seat 68 Cutlass s but could not justify more than $50 with everything else I really need to get finished on it. I agree on the cup holder if it had one maybe I would have offered more ~Cheers~ T

I remember glove-box lids with those molded into the back side also, but they weren't designed to be used while the car was moving, which is when you need a steady, firm cupholder most.

1965 98. 4 ashtrays and lighters. No cupholders.
Modern car, 4 cupholders, no ashtrays or lighters.
Who could have guessed that ashtrays would be optional?
Glad it sold, I had my eye on it but car still a long way from road.

I will say cup holders + a small compartment for at least your wallet & a cell phone is something you really get used to.
The aftermarket ones aren't as plentiful w/as many choices as they once were.
Seems it's either super cheapo/tacky/junk if you can find one ... or you have to step up to something more bulky & pricier.
I remember picking up some really nice ones back in my high school years (late 80's).
Nice n' sturdy with 1 open/1 closed storage area & (2) cup holders ... yet not excessively big nor tacky looking.
