1971 Cutlass 4 door for parts

OK, we pulled another one out of the weeds this afternoon. It's rougher than I thought but there are still some good parts here. I don't see any bubbles under the paint in the lower fenders and quarter panels, so it may be good for patch panels. I need to wash the moss and lichens off to see for sure. The rear window leaked bad and the trunk floor has holes in it. The deck lid may or may not be usable, I need to pull it and wire brush the area where it mates up to the rubber gasket around the trunk opening. The rear bumper look nice at first glance, but there is a dent just above and to the left of the license plate. There's also a spot right above the tail pipe where the chrome is peeling. I'll pull it soon to see how the back side looks. The front bumper looks good, and may clean up to be a decent driver. There's a set of front bumper guards in the trunk but they came off a different front bumper. Power drum brakes, 350 2bbl and TH350. The seat belt buckles are the small male ends and the shoulder straps are the wide ends. I need to pull them and see how bad they are, but I'm hoping they would clean up and be usable. Contact me with any questions or to see photos of any specific parts. This ones kinda ugly so I'll probably try to make it go away soon. John

Do you have any of the under dash ductwork, specifically the center console/vent duct?

A/C Parts

I would like the alternator brackets.

I need the duct that comes from the center unit under the dash and feeds the center dash vents and floor ducting. I have the driver and passenger duct, can you verify if it took on water and rotted out?

OK, thank you all for your interest. Due to my work schedule I'll only be able to pull some parts in the evenings after work. So it may be next weekend before I can get all the items requested pulled and photographed to show you their condition. I do have parts from other cars so even if the part you need is spoken for I may have another. The items requested so far are:

Seat Belts
Front fender rear eyebrows
Rear Seat Belts
Tail Light lenses
Drivers door panel
Cutlass Fender emblems
Alternator Brackets
Center dash ductwork, dash and floor
Heater hose clamp over AC compressor
PVC hose clamp on throttle linkage
4 port vacuum tree (if I can get it off intact)

If I missed anything let me know. Eric, on the trailer your 1970 looks waaaay better than this one!

Hi Doug
Sorry, no posi. I pulled the bumper this afternoon but haven't had time to wash it up. There's a bad spot right above the tail pipe and don't want to quote a price until I get it cleaned up and photos for you to evaluate. I do have a set of bumper guards for the front, and if someone wanted those with this bumper I'd give them a chance before splitting them up.

If you already have a rear end under your project car I'd encourage you to read through posts by 507OLDS and Monzaz. Both of those members are rebuilding and installing posi units to sell. They might also be able to sell you the parts so you could install it yourself if you wanted to save on shipping. Just a thought. John

OK, I've got a few things pulled off this car and photos taken. Here's a best and worst pictures of the rear bumper. Drivers side looks decent for a driver quality piece, but right over the exhaust pipe it has damage to the chrome. Doug, you were the first to ask about it so you get first shot. I'm only posting a couple pictures here, please go to my photobucket site to review more and see pictures of the front bumper guards too. I consider the bumper a solid core to replate, so without the bumper guards price is $60 plus shipping. I'd like $75 for the bumper guards and please check out the photos on them. The rear are in nice shape but one of the front ones has damage that needs repaired. I've had a request for the tail light lenses but the rest of the parts bolted to the bumper are available.

I'm interested in the windshield (mine is cracked), the rearview mirror (cracked), driver's side mirror, a few "cutlass" logos, radio, steering wheel (or at least horn button), and exhaust system (muffler, pipe, etc). I'm over in Boise ID area (willing to drive for certain items).

Failing that, (again, being "not far"), what would you ask for the whole car?

Michael, welcome to the site! I've committed parts from this car to other members, but I do have a lot of other spare parts. I'll send you a PM with personal contact information so we can discuss what you need. John

reevans, did you find a stone sheild yet? I doubt I've got a perfect one, but think I may have one with cracks but not missing pieces.

Mike, I sold that dashpot already but am pretty sure I've got a couple more somewhere in the garage. I've got a list of parts I'm looking for this weekend and I'll add a dashpot to the list

Hi Danielle
Are you needing just the outside chrome door handle and the latch mechanism for all four doors? Are you needing anything else? Price will be based on how much time it takes me to pull what you need. The two pictures attach are what I think your needing, let me know if you want any other parts or linkage.

70olds455, the drivers mirror is a chrome remote mirror. I don't think there's any corrosion bumps, but there are tiny dots where the chrome is bad. The strip across the bottom of the trunk is pretty nice. I'll get some photos of each for you to evaluate. If your interest please send me a PM with your shipping address I'll get a complete price including shipping for you. John

70olds455, I found some pictures of the trunk strip. About half of them were blury, but these should give you an idea of the condition. John

TenMidgets, is this the piece you need? If so send me a PM (private message) or email with your shipping address. I'll get you a price quote of purchase plus shipping.

Pacecar, I'm sorry but the hoses aren't available anymore.

2blu - yes that is it. I have a couple of mounting holes on my car and don't see any studs on the other side of that one. How was it fastened on the parts car? Assuming I can figure out how to mount it, I'm interested.

Thanks!

Good Morning Bill
I've got the clips, the threads are stiff from rust but I'll try to get them off for you. Then you can at least use them to select the correct repop clips.
Would you send me your shipping address through a PM or email? Then I'll get complete costs including shipping for you. John

I haven't been able to get them off yet! I misplaced my impact driver and some of the large phillips head screws won't budge. When I come up with the impact driver I'll continue trying. John

NorCalSS, what color of interior do you have? I think I've got a couple different colors for the AC ductwork and gove box door. Yes, they will fit your Supreme, the only difference would be the emblem on the glove box door. John

John,

Color doesnt matter the interior is going through a color change anyways. I need the entire piece that spans the length of the lower dash if possible. Glove box emblem is no biggie.

I have a line on some local parts (not sure what they have) but shoot me a quote through a PM if you dont mind. Ill keep you posted on if I find the parts local or not.

EDIT, Im in California

Thank you for your time,

Joe

John,

Do you have the under dash courtesy lights, glove box light, and the dash lights over the windshield washer controls and heater controls? Thanks!
