I had done this last summer but as I was searching for headlight bucket colors I ran across a few people asking for before and after photos of this type of repair so I figured I'd share. I soaked the lens in liquid plumber and then used a toothbrush to help remove any residual paint. Pretty sure this part only took about 15 minutes or so. Then as you can see I had 1 with a decent crack. I used USC Duraglas to repair that. After masking I sprayed with a gray primer and then followed up with the Krylon Dull Aluminum #1403. I believe I got the 1403 from Amazon. I did not hit them with any type of clear afterwards as I was happy with the finish.
