Cowl Tag Information for 1971 Cutlass Convertible

I'm going to take a stab at it.
ST 71 = style/model year = 1971
34267: 3 = GM division = Oldsmobile, 42 = model series = Cutlass Supreme, 67 = body type = convertible
LAN = assembly plant = Lansing MI
301139 BDY = Fisher body number (doesn't relate to the VIN at all)
TR Z989: Here's where it gets fuzzy. I have no idea what the Z means. I have a 989 code in my book which says the interior is a sienna color with a notch back bench seat in front
61 E PNT = lower body color and convertible top color = sandalwood (61) with a sandalwood (E) convertible top
02C = time build code = February (02), third week of that month (C), 1971
It will be interesting to see if anyone has further amplification or a different break of any of these numbers, and especially the Z989.
Randy C.

I just guessed on the "61". At first I thought it was 81 but I don't see a paint code for 81!
I'm curious about the "Z" before the 989 on the trim code. I've never seen anything like that before now.

We have a couple of discussions on Z meaning here on CO. I don't think we came to any consensus. By all means have a look at the link below. The second post of the link leads to another Z discussion.
