RIP Dad

My father, while not directly a member here was a true Olds fan. He was old fashioned and didn't use computers / cell phones. He was still a catalog order type of guy. We lost him to cancer on Friday May 25th. He and I both appreciated the help, advice and parts we received through being a member of these forums. We went in together on our 69 Cutlass in May 2014 through a member here. In the four years we've had the car we've turned nearly every nut and bolt from front to back. For neither of us being true mechanics i'm proud of what we accomplished. I'll miss you dad, you'll always be riding shotgun in spirit.

Sorry for your loss. He was not an old man by my standards. You have some great memories to dwell on when the time comes and it will. The grief and hurt will last for some time then you start to dwell on his life and those wonderful memories.

My condolences and sympathies for your loss. Your dad sounds like he was one of the best. Cherish the memories. I hope you keep the car forever as a tribute to the time you spent together on it.

While the car itself is nothing rare or special to most people, it's priceless to me. Thank you guys for the kind words. This is a stand up crowd that's helped us out many times.

Condolences. The moral character and pride instilled in you by your dad/parents can be passed on to future generations. Eventually the sadness will be replaced with thoughts of good times that will bring a smile and a story for others.

You and he had a wonderful life together. He obviously mentored you well. His job was done and he now rests in eternal peace.

Sorry to hear about your father, the car should be a channel for the good times. Amazing guys on this site, have my first car that me and dad bought together. Still remember him driving it and being amazed he knew how to drive a four speed. Not easy to loose someone so close. prayers for you and your family.

Sorry for your loss Craig. But I'm really happy you had the father son time with the car. Those are memories you'll have forever.
