Thanks for the compliment. Have had my 57 Olds only 3 months and was fortunate in finding it so nicely restored. I've been working on it daily (my hobby as a retired person) to refine and perfect it as much as possible. I like your 57Olds as well. It looks very straight and well taken care of for a 52 year old. I see that you have fender skirts, which is something I am interested in finding. Good luck with any future restoration work. These cars are worth it - a real piece of art and history.

One thing you might want to consider in making your car look very cool (IMHO), is to redirect your rear tail pipes so they don't stick out the back. The bumper has port holes and the tail pipes use to be in there; however, they really should be directed down towards the ground but kept directly underneath those ports in the bumper. If you direct them as originally installed, suet buildup from the exhaust becomes a maintenance problem.

    Good luck,
    Dan

    Good Morning,
Any like minded Guys, I am trying to make improvements on my 57 Olds 4 door hardtop. Desiring to drive it this year if possible.
My Dad Bought a new 59 Olds in 1958, a second one in the 60's after looking at many, This one was the first car I ever had. But, I wrecked it after driving it to school for only a few months.
As a young person I always desired to do takes things apart, understand how they worked and put them back together and they work. As a small child in the 50's, I loved to play with my Dad's bucket of old carburetors. I took two years of Auto in High School during the late 60's. I went to work in the fast food environment, management, then in manufactering of dinning room Seating and Decor. Ive been seating behing a desk on the phone selling Dinning Room Packages since 94. I've been married 33 years and have 5 children,8 grand children that are 7 and under. Life has been busy and still is, but sometimes the dreams we dream when young can come true.
