Engine paint

That “boat anchor” manifold turned out looking real nice.

Dropped off the starter and alternator to get rebuilt this week. Not going for a concours resto on the alternator just yet. The original one had been rebuilt once before. That shop removed all the numbers so once I find a date coded 1100704 I’ll get that one redone. Placed an order to Fusick, got the oil cap and bypass hose. Cable tube is on waiting for the starter to return. I’ll probably drop this thing in the chassis soon.

The original 4 speed hasn’t been on the road since 74. Inside was decent besides the dried up dope. Everything was sticky since it hadn’t spun much in the last 50 years. Not too worried about going full concours resto on it. I sand blasted the driveshaft and replaced the u joints yesterday. Need to do some cosmetic work on it next.

Patiently waiting on the headers to get here. M21 bolted up, fluids in and the driveshaft is installed. Probably will have to remove it to lift the block up for header install. The black on the side of the trans is blackout. Which was present on this trans. It’s actually still present. I just fogged over it to fill in the bare spots.

😄. Sway bars on the front and rear. Headers get here today. And I have a cool update coming on the shocks.

Looking good, nice work you are doing there.
So quick question, where did you source your body mount bushings, all of the ones I have found don't seem to look correct?
Thanks
Again, great work.

Fusick. Only place that sells the correct ones. And you still have to modify one of them. Their 68-72 kit is the one you want.

Waiting on the headers to get back from ceramic coating. Hopefully 🤞🏻 in another 1.5 weeks.

So the old orange Mallory wires don’t work with a pertronix so I opted for black wires. Probably will trim them a little once the carbs are on.

The headers should be getting coated today. All of the anodized trim is at the shop getting restored. And the door panels shipped yesterday after waiting 1.5 years.

The shocks are on too. Did some research on mid 60s drag shocks and found this company, Cure Ride. With some creative license the car now has a set. Uploks and Down Loks. For that killer dig off the line. 🤣

Your attention to detail is incredible! But 1.5 years for door panels? That seems insane. Was that from Legendary? If so, is that a normal time to have to wait?

SMS auto fabrics in Oregon. Worst company you’ll ever deal with. But nobody else makes door panels for F85s. So you’re stuck with them.

Nope. I’m waiting on my friend to fix some of the body damage then I’ll put it in the rotisserie. Plan for the rest of the summer is repairs and do the underside of the body. Are you going to Indy?

No, not going & not sure I ever will again. I have no problem with it just hard to travel these days. If it gets back close I might try it.

Door panels arrived. They are not even close to matching the seats that don’t match either.
