This is my new project. As is it does run and drive albeit with iffy brakes. Not sure if I am wanting to do a resto or mild custom. Any thoughts?

 

It is your car so make it like you want it to be. You will get lots of advice as to what you should do. Maybe you just drive it like it is for a while and then decide. I would probably restomod it myself since it is not going to be much fun to drive like it is. I would probably put a first generation Olds V8 in it with one of the old hydra-matics and make it look like it came in it. But that is just me.

 

Thats honestly what I was thinking. Possibly a 303 or maybe a 324 rocket. I'm also wondering if the hydramatic in it will bolt up to one of those

 

I Don't think the trans will bolt up but is of the same style as all the first generation hydromantic. My inculcation would be to put a 371 and a slant pan in it and change out the valve covers to the early style/ That would be a sleeper....Tedd

 

Yeah Tedd, it would need those 49-50 valve covers with the spark plug wire looms. That would be perfect.
