64 f85 headliner question
64 f85 headliner question
i am working on a 64 f 85 2 door post coupe...it had no interior in it when i bought it...i want to put a new headliner in it ...does the headliner get installed before the windshield and back glass are installed or after...thanks...mike
In GM A-body cars, the headliner CAN be installed with the glass in place, the strips that it gets glued to are inside just below the glass. 60's Fords and Mopars the glass DOES have to be be out because the headliner wraps around the lip the glass sits on.
A lot of people still prefer to have the glass out for easier access. Personally I've done a bunch with it both in and out- It doesn't seem to be any easier with it out in my opinion, but that's just me.
IMO its not worth pulling the glass JUST to do the headliner. If its already out and you are coordinating tasks, then i might want to delay the glass to finish the headliner.. but not required.
