1966 f-85 decoding confusion, help

Pretty confused after decoding the vin and data tag on my car.

VIN: 33617m242662

Data Tag: 01C G
ST 66-33617 LAN 4420 BODY
TR 946A K-K PAINT
E 2KXR
5Y

I've found different info when using different vin decoders and the data tag decoder provided by one of the members. Any help appreciated.

That would be Ocean Mist.

I don't figure the data tag is too accurate. Says conventional bench seat then in group 2 says floor mounted auto transmission.

Will have to look for the build sheet.

I am assuming that you used my decoder to get the information you found.

The floor mounted transmission, code 2X, is the odd one especially with a bench seat. Looking at my notes I am pretty confident with the 946 A Seat type (see attached) and the rest of the data but it appears that 2X is indeed floor mounted transmission BUT only with RPO D-55. That is confusing. Let me do a see if I can dig around and see if I can find my proof of 2X unless someone else on here beats me to it.

Thanks for checking out the decoder anyway. I rely on folks to call me out on errors.

Thanks for the decoder, it's great. I've been recouping from some minor surgery and was board so thought I'd look up the cars numbers to burn up some time. I've read the data plate several times and it's 2X, a real head scratcher.

Would A/C have an accessory code?

My decoder notes say a 66 with 2X and without G code is an auto trans with column shift.

That would clear things up, thanks.

If anyone is interested in more option codes, I can post a pic of my cars MSRP sheet. The car came with a lot of extras.

What the heck, I have time.
