Silver rubbing stuff for lettering?

Hello everyone...posted a pic of the lettering on my glove box. I'm assuming it once silver coloring so as to make the letters stand out. That's rubbed off over time. Want to know if anyone is familiar with a product that can be used to color the letters. I know tedious painting is an option...for some reason, Im picturing a sheet of silvery stuff that you place over the letters and use something flat to rub the silver onto the surface of the embossed lettering. Thanks in advance for your help!

The foil is otherwise known as "Bare Metal Foil", or BMF. It's quite fragile, scratches/rips easily even after application and can peel in time as well. It might not withstand regular wiping and cleaning agents.

Where's the photo you posted? Harder to give ideas without being sure what you're dealing with. If the lettering is embossed or etched on your glove box, the foil may work although you should consider some form of clear protectant over it. Future wax, clear coat or clear finger nail polish might work.

If the lettering can be removed, take it to one of those spray chrome paint shops.
