ARH service sucks!

If anyone has been following my project overkil build in the big block section then you know it's getting close to Dyno time! I'd be even closer if ARH had not lost the order for my headers! Mark (Cutlassefi) ordered them a month ago and wooooosh they must have flushed it down the toilet! ARH makes great headers but their service is about as good as listening to Hillary Clinton lie through her teeth or Donald Trump do a bad Adolph Hitler impersonation! Thanks ARH you get the big one finger salute from me!!!!!

Id love to meet the guys that oversee the products being made! They should be in charge of QC and oversee customer service! If I were in charge heads would role!

Actually I ordered them about 6 weeks ago. I reminded the guy that he tried to charge me more than the website price at that time. He had no response to that. His name is Steve Doten by the way.

It much be nice to be so busy that you don't have to give a rats *** about customer service..........

I did not have a good experience with Steve either. Nick (owner) is a great guy and an Olds fanatic... he has taken really good care of me.

Kooks are no longer made. Dick Miller has the castings and his catalogue shows this

DMR-6825 Same as DMR-6811 except fits 1964-1977 (Cutlass S/442/W-30) with small block engines. 1-7/8” primary with 3” collectors.

I was one of the initial customers for ARH big tube sbo headers. The headers arrived with the flanges drilled wrong. Each header had to have two of the bolt holts re-drilled. I got an apology from Nick but no compensation even though I had to pay time & labor to correct the problem.

Communication was horrible throughout the whole ordeal, from ordering and trying to figure out what's best for my engine to the finished product. Steve is a moron who don't give a rats a$$ about the customer. I had to call over and over just to figure out what's going on.
As far as the headers go I ended up cutting out #3 tube and re-welding another tube in a different angle. Steve is horrible with customers, he acted as if I was lying. It wasn't until I sent the pictures of work I did and I told them that the problem is being discussed on olds forum, that I got to talk to Nick. Nick offered for me to send the headers back so he can take a look at them, but at that point I already cut and weld them, installed them on the car so I didn't see the point of wasting another 6-8 weeks just so he can see what's wrong with them.

Like I mentioned before, I don't expect $500 headers to fit right because we all know headers are PIA. but when I am paying $1100 I expect them to be perfect.

Also ARH headers look horrible, China man can make stainless headers that look great, no welds showing, nice and polished. My $1100 headers look like crap compare to chinesium.

I would not recommend them to anybody.

ARH

CHINA

Dave did you ever compare ARH to others by looking in the tube on the collector end? How about the china headers anyone?

The only ARH I bought were the SBO G body headers. I did not compare them to anything else so can't comment further. The SBO G body headers did fit well.

Dave car craft claims gain on hp and torq with no tuning just bolt the merge collector headers on vs open collector on.This was done with a chevy eng of over 500hp. Tuning collector lengh can be a way to make gains. I wish someone would do a pipe max for more info. It is sad that some guys have had poor customer service with ARH.I actually bought my ARH for my tube chassis car.I left them in the box after taking pictures of them for a year. Then when i mocked up them for the tube chassis car they wouldn't work. Car set to low. Then i put them on my 1970 442 worked great both cars are 1970 442. They claim they will work on my 67 but i haven't tried that.

It's a shame the ARH headers sold by Smitty275 are no longer available, they fit, and even though the set I bought needed massaging, the fitment is perfect..

Something must have gone wrong somewhere recently as the BBO set I bought 2 years ago fit perfect even with 2" primary's. They were tight but went in with no mods what so ever. Here are some pics

Something did go wrong and obviously they have 0 quality control.
If you look at your driver side headers and compare it to mine you can see that they look different. Look at #3 tube, on yours it's behind #1, on mine it's in the front. This is why I had to cut mine and redo it.

I don't understand stuff like this. If I owned or worked at a place and I was pointed to this thread, 2 things would happen. 1 I would comment on the thread of where I went astray, and 2 I would state what's going to happen to fix it and restore confidence in my product.

It makes no sense that a previously well respected and properly fitting product should suddenly be added to the list of **** that just won't work!
