Working on the interior...

Hi Friends...

I have been real busy with work and family stuff. I finally have time for the Oldsmobile and have begun tearing up the interior for replacement. When I pulled up the carpet I found the build sheet from the FREMONT plant tucked in behind the drivers seat. The sheet matches the dealership papers I have for the car! Where can I go to decipher the numbers and there meaning?

Does anyone have any advice on installing upholstery? I have never done this kind of work before. Any advice is appreciated, tools to use, tricks, etc.... I have a split front bench seat.
Thanks
Alex in Idaho USA

Leave the vinyil in the sun for an hour or so, the heat will make it soft and stretchy. Also you can use dry cleaning bags(you know the ones your shirts come back from dry cleaning in) and wrapped them around the buckets. The covers will slip on nice and easy.

any suggestion on which system to use? anything I can buy locally from the local vendors or should I buy the OPGX items online? I like inexpensive stuff so local would be better. I can cut the stuff to size.

I am going to stay stock. This car is pretty original with 85,000 miles. I have had mechanical work done and I have done stuff with brakes and such, but never have done anything to the interior.

if you are going to stay stock just get the covers from Legendary or OPGI whatever your preference is. I think Legendary might be better quality, I could be wrong. You can search CO and find threads about interior.
If you want to go custom you can do what ever you want with it. Below is a picture of my interior with better bucket seats that RECLINE. I am 6' 4" so stock buckets are not so comfy.
